Turning the page on 2022

On December 31st I always find myself taking stock. I often write little notes about my friends and family, and what makes my relationship with them special, and how I plan to commit my time and energy to them in the new year. I take time to reflect on the year and it’s lessons, the challenges, and my growth. Finally — 2022 is over and the page is being turned on this chapter ( possibly ripped out…). A new chapter of my book begins — and I am ready.

Late last fall, I made a post on instagram that I would be posting articles about what has gone on in 2022. I found myself with three articles ready to be posted, three sitting in my drafts, and notes on how I would put together others. As I approached the date I set on releasing the first one, I caught myself before pressing “publish”. My purpose in writing and publishing these articles is to lay out, in black and white, what I had been through in 2022. I planned to release the articles to bluntly put the facts out there, which included things like screenshots of texts and emails, I was going to just blast it in a fiery fashion. But. I realized that the behavior, conduct, and intent I was about to act with would be no better then what I was subject to — and I am better than that.

I have taken time to re-write the articles and have a different intent and tone with them – And maybe they will just remain as internal notes for myself. I think what happened here can be a case study and may reposition the articles to be just that. Something that any person can take something away from after reading or…
